Rescue Pod
By Janna Graber

Ten bottle-nosed dolphins gave a "helping fin" to a stranded fisherman who was being circled by sharks. After his fishing boat sank, Grant Dickson clambered aboard his tiny lifeboat only to find himself being eyed by reef sharks.

And more danger was on its way—a huge tiger shark was swimming closer and closer! Dickson knew he was in a sea of trouble. But just then, ten dolphins swam out of nowhere, charging the sharks and chasing them away. The gentle sea mammals stayed with Dickson all night, and he was rescued two days later.

"It was as if they sensed I was in danger," he says. "They helped save my life."
